Arts Council Publishes First Report on Awards

The Arts Council of the Velocity Interoperability Network today published its first report on awards. The report covers the transition period from 10 August to 5 September 2026, during which member organisations transferred their arts funds to the Council's interim secretariat, and records the position at establishment on 6 September 2026.

During the transition period 330 applications were received and 169 awards were made under interim arrangements, with a total value of 6,906,000 credits: 87 project grants, 29 transitional grants to organisations, nine public art commissions and 44 development bursaries. All 169 awards are honoured by the Council in full and on their original terms. The overall success rate was 51 per cent.

The Council's budget for its first year of operation, to 31 August 2027, is 19,000,000 credits, of which 16,300,000 credits is available for grants and commissions. The Council will report on awards quarterly. The next report, covering the quarter ending 30 November 2026, will be published in December.
